Malaysia's chemical and new materials

Rising Global Consultants

Malaysia is seeking to enter new segments in the specialty chemicals field. Industry participants have started exploring the potential of using Crude Oil-to-Chemicals (COTC) technology to produce specialty chemicals directly from crude oil. There is significant market potential in non-fuel products such as catalysts, aromatics, petroleum solvents (naphtha), waxes, and white oils, which remain to be developed. These products can be used as additives in various industries such as food and beverage, construction, and automotive. Another area for development involves revising marketing and supply chain management policies to further diversify the sources of raw materials and markets for the industry. This will enable industry participants to choose from different suppliers and target markets, providing greater flexibility and freedom in business operations

Chemical and new material

The non-metallic mineral products industry includes the production of glass, ceramics, and clay-based products, cement and concrete, high-purity alumina (HPA), as well as other products such as quicklime, barite, marble, and granite
