Malaysia continues to develop as a manufacturing hub for medical devices in the region. We have over 200 manufacturers, with half engaged in the production of medical gloves. More than 30 multinational companies producing high-value medical devices have chosen Malaysia as their overseas manufacturing location, including Abbott, B. Braun, Boston Scientific, BD, Tecomet, Teleflex, ResMed, Ciba Vision, Ambu, Toshiba Medical Systems, and Haemonetics

Smith & Nephew and Dexcom have also joined this trend, establishing their own manufacturing facilities in Malaysia. The increase in second- and third-tier manufacturers of medical device components provides more opportunities for local suppliers to integrate into the global supply chain of the industry
