Human capital development
To support the skilled workforce required for the aerospace sector, local training institutions have begun several aerospace-related training programs. These include the Advanced Composite Training Centre (ACTC) at the University of Kuala Lumpur - Malaysia Aerospace Technology Institute, the Malaysia Aviation Training Academy, the Advanced Aerospace Technology Centre, and Aerospace Precision Resources.

Automotive industry
The automotive industry is a significant strategic component of Malaysia’s manufacturing sector. It includes the production of passenger cars, commercial vehicles, motorcycles, and scooters, as well as automotive parts. The automotive sub-sector is part of a complete ecosystem that encompasses primary, manufacturing, supporting services, and aftermarket industries
The industry has driven the development of engineering, auxiliary, and supporting sectors, and has contributed to skills development as well as the enhancement of technology and engineering capabilities. These factors further increase Malaysia’s attractiveness as a global automotive manufacturing base

Railway
The railway sub-sector includes railway design, manufacturing, assembly, as well as maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) activities. Over 30 companies are involved in the design, manufacturing, and assembly of national railway products, while more than 40 local companies participate in MRO activities. The industry currently employs 25,000 workers in railway-related activities, with a goal of reaching 68,000 workers by 2030
The government’s vision for Malaysia’s railway sub-sector is for it to become a strong and sustainable industry by 2030, capable of meeting the nation’s railway transport needs. Additionally, Malaysia aims to become a competitive global player in the industry to optimize the use of local resources and technology.
